Our students served in July 2008 through World Changers. They joined others in Clovis, CA (300 participants) to work on homes of people who needed their houses reroofed, cleaned, fences torn down and rebuilt, or needed wheelchair ramps built. Student and adult participants paid for the opportunity with their own funds, worked hard all week, and saw several people come to Christ as a result of their hard labor and warm hearts towards those they were helping. In 2010, they went to Caldwell, Idaho and participated in remodeling of their church, and outreaches in the area. Our students are avid participants in FAITH ...our church's evangelism strategy, and have reached many for Christ through teamwork during youth activities and at their own schools. This year we have students serving in Nepal and Italy through Royal Servants and would appreciate your prayers as they spread the gospel through service and drama.
In the past, still other students joined Royal Servants and served in Israel, Costa Rica, Africa and China, doing street drama, and ministering to the hearts of the native countrymen. This huge opportunity for growth has inspired a deeper understanding in each one that they can be used of Christ to reach and teach others the glorious plan of salvation.
Others joined with the North American Mission Board and served in South Carolina and Idaho as Summer Missionaries, working with Vacation Bible School, Upward Basketball, Youth Camp, children's activities and more.
Currently our church body supports two families through Missions giving, Jeff and Annie White, and Craig and Kayla Gilley.
First Baptist Church of Burley believes that as part of our purpose statement "Reaching the Magic Valley and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through prayer, proclamation, praise and following in His footsteps" we must equip ourselves and others to share the love of Christ.
