Parent's Page

As the student ministry of First Baptist Church we realize the powerful influence parents have over their students. Surveys and statistics prove that you carry more influence than anyone else. The greatest influences are not their peers, the youth pastor, a teacher, or some rock band. Some of you may be completely shocked to hear this, but it is true, even in the life of your student.

We are committed to assisting you in guiding your student toward Christ. It is never appropriate for anyone in the student ministry department to undermine the authority of a parent who is submitted to the Word of God. It is not the responsibility of Ablaze to raise your student. We are not called to "parent" your student, but it is our calling to support your parenting in Christ. We will pray for you, listen to you, and provide resources for you. May the wisdom and power of Christ rest on you as you raise the students God has blessed you with.

One ministry we use to support you as a parent is Parent Builders. Parent Builders is designed for parents to come together and get practical advice from each other and from guest speakers who come and share with us concerning everything from dating, to discipline, to building a hedge of protection around your student from the traps the world has to offer. One commitment we make is that you can come without fear of ever being asked to help at the next event or make a donation to the Ablaze Student Ministry.
